Traces of water: Photography and social memory

This work proposes the enhancement of the photographic image in the process of construction, support and visibility of collective memory, considering it a tool that enhances resilience in situations of natural disasters. The case study: the tragic rain flood that affected the city of La Plata (Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina) during April 2 and 3, 2013, which caused numerous losses of human, non-human and material lives, turning the city into a risk zone. Water risk, due to rain. To do this, it generates a qualitative and exploratory analysis methodology, with a strong impulse from visual anthropology. The methodological strategy was based on the case study: photographs of the post-flood La Plata District, selected from three exhibitions/interventions organized by photographic groups in three-time sections, reinforcing the universe of analysis from the memory process.
