Arte y Ciudad. Revista de Investigación publishes articles and bibliographic reviews on art history and theory, visual arts, architecture, urban planning, communication and cultural studies, with special attention to contemporary art in all its manifestations and from any methodological approach, while also open to studies of the historical periods in which the city and its artistic manifestations have played a decisive role. The journal is published twice a year (April and October).

Articles must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere for the six months following their receipt.

Articles must not exceed 60,000 characters (including graphics, notes and bibliography), written in DIN A4 format, with top and bottom margins of 2.5 cm and left and right margins of 3 cm, in Times New Roman 12-point with 1.5 line spacing. A maximum of ten images per article is accepted.

Bibliographic reviews are not subject to blind peer review and must not exceed 9,000 characters, following the format specified above.

Submissions are handled through the journal's OJS registration: Word format for the text, PDF for the anonymised text used in peer review, and TIFF or JPG for images with sufficient quality for reproduction.

Originals are subject to external evaluation by specialists in the field through a double-blind peer-review system. The Editorial Board, also consulting the Advisory Board on the relevance, interest and structure of the contents, decides whether to publish the article and notifies authors of the decisions taken.

Along with the article, a duly completed and signed authorship declaration and best-practices statement must be submitted.

The journal publishes articles in Spanish and English. Articles in English must include a Spanish abstract and keywords, and articles in Spanish must include an English abstract and keywords.

Each article must include: title (in Spanish and English), author's full name, institutional affiliation and ORCID identifier (strongly recommended), an abstract of no more than 250 words (in Spanish and English), and four to six keywords (in Spanish and English).

References and citations follow the journal's style — see recent issues for examples, or contact the editorial office for details.
