Generally, in most architectu re schools, teaching establishes its own field of action with purposes aimed at the office of architecture, and acting on its own reality. In this sense, the Workshop activity is fundamental, incorporating thematic axes that contribute to the foundation of the projects to achieve the object, city and territory relationship. In Latin America, several schools have implemented theoretical reflection as one of the axes of the Workshop, one of them being the School of Architecture and Design of the Pontificia Un iversidad Católica de Valparaíso in Chile, a school chosen for the present work, since it is considered as one of the most important experiences in architectural research in South America. This School, through the group of architects and designers that con stitute it, in its way of teaching and doing architecture share a poetic vision of the American continent and, at the same time, the School has developed a figurative language in its way of teaching. The main objective of this research is to analyze each o f the stages of the School, in order to show their "fundamentals", seeking to identify the theoretical and thought line that govern their own way of seeing, thinking and teaching architecture. To do this, publications, magazines and online documents relate d to teaching at the School of the aforementioned University will be reviewed, in order to interpret them, understand them and try to approach the theories and thoughts that guide their activity, from their different stages to the contemporaneity .Downloads
