Domestic architecture: a look from Delicias baty

Abstract

This work is an aproximation to the domestic architecture of the Delicias sugar factory, as a result of the foundation of Cuban American Sugar Company. The north American capital into the sugar industry in the region contributed not only to the development of factories with advanced technology but also with the selfsuficient communities that grow up and compat themself around it, so the economic factor was which determined the conception of the urban structure and especially in the residence spaces. Refering to houses, there were a rich kind of them made of wood and masonny, because of the urgency that the Cuban American Sugar Company gets the buildings constructions. From this edification activity wrow up four well defined, expand, arhitectonical and social neighborhoods, with a lot of houses like extensive and green colonies dedicated to the cultivation of cane.
