In the mid-1880s the Parisian photographic company J. Lévy et Cie toured Spain throughout successive trips, putting into practice for the first time, in a systematic way, the technique of the snapshot — that is, making use of the modern gelatin-silver bromide emulsion, discovered by Richard L. Maddox in 1871, and perfected with successive contributions.Downloads
