The present article will analyze the phenomenon of ʺcartoneras publishing ʺ, from a sociological and historical point of view, trying to contemplate the possibility of fin‐ ding a background related to this particular type of publishing in the argentinean art. The aim is to draw a genealogy built by the diverse use of the wide repertoir of the marginal poetry, the suburban representations, the precariousness of materials used and the low complexity techniques. Indicating in which way this rather old elements have defined not only the level of the artistic statement but how it is regarded as an avant garde, also resized in the contemporary times by the ʺcartoneras ʺ editorials.Downloads
