The performative use of calle Larios. The cases of Easter processions and protests

Abstract

This article analyses the origins of the main thoroughfare of Malaga: Calle Marqués de Larios. Thus, it will be observed (from its construction to the present) it has been impregnated with different changes conditioned by society and its needs, for that reason Calle Larios is the protagonist of a spatio-temporal mutation, which means that it is interpreted as a scenario presenting the framework in common urban space: from the streets, the buildings to the simple fact of being a public road. On the other hand, it is worth noting that perhaps one of the most important factors is the pedestrians, who become spectators, whether active or passive, who circulate and occupy this street throughout the year. Afterwards, the concept of the public as well as of '' public art '' will be reflected in order to conclude with a series of conclusions on everything previously stated.
