Abstract

Enrique Meléndez Galán and Moisés Bazán de Huerta, El escultor José Luis Hinchado, Badajoz, Fundación Caja Badajoz, 2016, 262 pp., ISBN 978-84-608-8414-9. The book offers an exhaustive monographic study of the creative career of the Extremaduran sculptor José Luis Hinchado Morales (Badajoz, 1965), covering his biographical profile and material processes through the analysis of his various thematic series—including Cuaderno de viajes and Opus—as well as his contributions to public sculpture in Extremadura. The reviewer highlights the exceptional editorial quality of the work, supported by nearly 350 color photographs and an extensive illustrated catalogue funded by the Fundación Caja Badajoz. The publication is assessed very positively for filling a significant gap in the art historiography of the Extremadura region, bringing to light an artist who had previously lacked an in-depth scholarly study.
