Asunción Gil Orrios (coord.), Ejea: Proyectos y realidades. Una mirada a la evolución del urbanismo de Ejea de los Caballeros con motivo del I Centenario de la inauguración de su Ensanche, Zaragoza, Institución Fernando el Católico / Centro de Estudios de las Cinco Villas, 2019. The book commemorates the centenary of the inauguration of the Gran Vía del Ensanche in Ejea de los Caballeros (1919) and traces the urban evolution of this town in the province of Zaragoza from its historical origins to contemporary challenges, bringing together contributions from several authors—including Javier Lambán, Jesús Sarría, Mariano Berges, Rafael Martínez and Juana Teresa Guilleme—who analyse urban development from cultural, technical and political perspectives. The reviewer highlights the documentary richness of the volume, structured in three parts covering historical urbanism, twentieth-century urbanism and the present day, accompanied by an extensive collection of photographs, illustrations and plans. Overall, the book is praised as a mirror reflecting the society of each era, guided by principles of sustainability, accessibility and territorial balance.
