Written City. Numbers and Letters on the City

Abstract

The city as a human and physical habitat supports a constant writing (verbal) on the urban and architectural space. These superimposed writings or words are a 'word of the father', a law, that manifests certain forms of dominion and confers an image upon the city. There is a police writing in building numbers, an advertising writing in signs and advertisements, and a political writing resulting from this writing in public space.
