What is ORCID?

ORCID is an independent non-profit organization that provides a persistent identifier — the ORCID iD — that distinguishes you from other researchers and supports automated links between you and your professional activities. ORCID is integrated into many systems used by publishers, funders, institutions, and other research-related services.

How and why we collect ORCID iDs?

This journal collects your ORCID iD so that we and the wider community can be confident you are correctly identified and connected with your publication(s).

When you click the "Authorize" button in the ORCID pop-up window, we will ask you to share your iD through an authenticated process — either by registering for a new ORCID iD or, if you already have one, signing in to your ORCID account — and then granting us permission to retrieve your iD. This ensures that you are correctly identified and securely connected with your ORCID.

Learn more at What's so special about signing in.

This journal will display the ORCID iDs of authenticated authors and co-authors on their profile and on the article page.

Where are ORCID iDs displayed?

To acknowledge that you have used your iD and that it has been authenticated, we display the ORCID iD icon iD icon next to your name on your submission's article page and on your public user profile.
