Considering exile as a space and time in which children lived in equal conditions of vulnerability, this work aims to bring to light the experience of Spanish refugee children in England and, in particular, the work of women who participated in their education. Removed from their parents, their country and their language, education was for them the weapon to forge their future. The work of women in the colonies in which they were relocated deserves to be highlighted, home-schools in which the concept “no one left behind” prevailed: everyone went to school, they all had the opportunity to develop their talents, they all participated in the organization of the house, and in cultural and social life. We want to focus attention on the work carried out by Chloe Vulliamy and Margarita Comas, together with other significant women, who played a key role in the intellectual, emotional and equal education of refugee children.
